This recipe is perfect for those of us who like the convenience of a boxed mix but are slowly starting to realize you just can’t beat homemade! It’s a homemade brownie mix that you can scale up or down to have on hand for any and every brownie emergency from last minute bake sales to a chocolate craving that just will not quit.

You just whisk all the dry ingredients together and then pop them into a Ziploc bag or Tupperware container with the instructions below. Then when you’re ready for brownies you add your standard ingredients (like eggs and oil) and bake up most delicious homemade brownies!

 

Ingredients:

For the mix
1 Cup Sugar
½ Cup Flour
⅓ Cup Cocoa
¼ teaspoon Salt
¼ teaspoon Baking Powder

To make the brownies:

½ cup oil
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

Whisk together mix ingredients and store in air tight bag or container until ready to use.

When ready to make the brownies preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9×9 pan.

Pour mix into mixing bowl and add wet ingredients. Stir to combine into brownie batter.

Add batter to pan and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out with a few wet crumbs—don’t over bake!

Quick tip: You can scale up the amount of mix you have so you can make multiple pans of brownies from your mix. Each time you make the brownies you should use just under 2 cups of mix.
