Sneak In A Serving Of Fruit And Get Your Chocolate Fix All In One

I’ll admit that my sweet tooth sometimes get the best of me. I have always enjoyed a sweet treat and probably have never uttered the sentence ”It’s too sweet” in my life. In fact, for a brief moment in my life I considered opening my own bakery and was seriously looking at variou culinary schools to attend. Those plans never panned out—but I still enjoy my sugar!

However, now that I’m a mom I’ve become a lot more aware of what I’m eating and how it affects me. I want to set a good example for my kids and know that eating a cookie, brownie or other dessert everyday (or sometimes mutliple times a day) probably isn’t the best eating habits to teach them.

As a way to cut back on the overly indulgent desserts I’ve been slowly trying to incorporate healthier dessert alternatives into our daily routines. With the help of some of my best girl friends we’ve been able to come up with quite a few recipes that both taste delicious and make us feel good about eating them.

One of them, though, has become a clear favorite with my kids (and me). And it’s crazy simple to make!

Quick tip: Omit the cocoa powder and blend in other frozen fruits (like Strawberries) for fruit flavored healthy ice cream.
