One-Of-A-Kind Pizza That Will Be Your New Favorite
Okay, it’s fall again! It’s that time of year when a big orange gourd takes over the food and drink lives of a huge segment of the population. Pumpkin spiced EVERYTHING crawls out of the woodwork and takes over menus in every type of eatery imaginable, from the corner diner to the 5-Star eating emporium. Those who get their annual fix of sweet, spicy, pumpkin-y treats are rolling their eyes up into their heads in sheer bliss.
But what about those of us with no real sweet tooth to speak of? Must we miss out on the furor over all things pumpkin? Not so, says Lauren, and she serves up this amazing savory pumpkin pizza as proof. PUMPKIN PIZZA? I can hear your gasps of disbelief from here! Yes, pumpkin pizza, indeed. As Lauren says, “I don’t know if I can express to you how much I love this pizza….(it) is like a whole new element of pumpkin. Not the sweet flavor you find in baked goods, but savory.”
How about that? Savory pumpkin! I am starting a whole new recipe collection devoted to savory pumpkin dishes. I will include savory dishes for those other gourds and squash that usually get served to us drowning in treacle of some sort, such as butternut and acorn.

Quick Tip: What? No pizza stone? No problem, just use a regular baking sheet. You can spray it with cooking spray, line it with foil and spray the foil, or line it with parchment paper and lightly spray. The spray makes it so your pizza dough doesn’t stick to the pan/foil/paper. Parchment paper will give you a more crispy crust.
