Philly Cheese Meets Sloppy Joe in This Weeknight Dinner Favorite
I have a confession: I don’t care much for sloppy joes. I know these are a comforting childhood staple for many, and they do contain some of my favorite ingredients, but I just never found the combination very appetizing. I always felt like I should be eating the filling over spaghetti noodles or garlic bread. But this recipe takes the form of a Sloppy Joe and puts a delicious Philly Cheesesteak twist on it. Suddenly you’ve got the flavors of a Philly mixed with the ease of a Sloppy Joe, and everyone in my house is at the table drooling by the time I get it served up. That’s a big win for me.
This recipe really isn’t too hard to pull together, either. As a weeknight dinner, it’s quick and pretty simple, but a little more involved than a slow cooker recipe. Good for those nights when you still have energy for standing around the stove, but don’t want to do too much thinking. Big thanks go to the mastermind behind Dinner Then Dessert, who found a brand new way for my family and I to compromise – an impressive feat indeed. Try this one on for yourself tonight and I guarantee your family will come running.

Quick tip: Many reviews mention that this recipe is extremely cheesy, maybe a little too much so. You may want to reduce the Provolone to six ounces.
