Make This For Dinner And Watch Your Family Go Nuts!
There’s a funny story behind this recipe. The story of my first date with my husband who has an identical twin brother. We were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend. Unfortunately, somewhere between my agreeing to the date and actually going on the date I got confused.
I didn’t know which brother I was going on a date with!
He greeted me by name as I walked into the restaurant as I avoided calling him anything specific. We sat down to dinner and got to talking. Things were going well, and I thought I’d get away with not knowing his name. But right before our waitress came up to take our order he got up to walk to the bathroom. I had to get his attention.
“Bryan!” I called. Crickets. He turned around. “Um, nope, I’m Josh.”
I wanted to sink right into the floor. He walked back to give his order, and after the waitress walked away we sat in awkward silence. Finally, I cracked and apologized a thousand times over. And as his French dip was served he smiled and told me he’d forgive me if I promised to make him his favorite sandwich.
So this recipe came to be.

Quick tip: You can skip the step where you sear the meat and put it directly in the crock pot but it will be a little less flavorful.
