Bacon Makes Everything Tastier—Including This Classic Side Dish
I think we can all agree that there are just some things that have to be served at a holiday dinner. The classics like turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes and gravy. If they’re not on the table it just doesn’t quite feel like the holiday season to me. And in my family part of our holiday traditions include having assigned dishes to bring to our meals together.
My parents host both our Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and my siblings and I (along with our famiiles) each have certain dishes we’re supposed to contribute every year. As my Mom always said ”If you don’t bring something, you don’t eat!”
My dish has always been green bean casserole. To me nothing beats this cozy, comforting dish. Plus, it has come veggies so it’s basically health food! (Kidding) For years I’ve been making my grandma’s recipe—the simple classic that most of us know and love.
However, this past Thanksgiving I wasfeeling a little adventurous and decided to switch things up a bit. After asking my husband what he thought would be good to add to this classic casserole Isearched for the perfect recipe.
And found it!

Quick tip: For a cheesy twist try using condensed chedddar soup instead of the mushroom.
