Who Doesn’t Love A Good Set It and Forget It Recipe?
As I’ve gotten older and my family has expanded (my husband and I just welcomed our sixth child) it’s gotten more and more difficult to keep up with the same holiday traditions every year. There’s less time to decorate, less time to host family and friends for a dinner or lunch, and definitely less time to bake.
When I grew up it was just my parents and I, so it always seemed there was plenty of time for us to go all out for Christmas. Right after Thanksgiving my mom would start putting out our Christmas decorations—she had something for every single room and by the time she was done it looked like the north pole. And my dad loved covering every inch of the outside of our hose in twinkly lights. But what I remember most is all the delicious holiday treats my mom and I would make.
From every kind of cookie imaginable to candies and fudge, we had more than enough to share throughout the season with everyone who came to our home. That’s something I want to be able to do for my own family but with six kids sometimes there’s just not enough time in the day.
That’s why recipes like this are perfect.

Quick tip: Mix up the nuts you use for this recipe—chocolate covered almonds would be equally as delicious!
