If There Is Such A Thing As Dessert Heaven We’re Pretty Sure We Found It
How many of you remember having a lemonade stand growing up? I have fond memories of setting up shop on my grandparents’ front lawn as they had their annual rummage sale. My sister and I would spend the days leading up to the sale carefully crafting lemonade signs and talking our mom into baking us some goodies to sell along with our lemonade.
After all, with a long morning of rummaging under your belt who can turn down a homemade treat that’s only 50¢? That’s right—no one can.
The morning of the sale we’d all be up early setting up. My sister and I would spread a table cloth over our table, make a few gallons of lemonade, and then set up the rest of our haul. With any luck we’d have a few treats to tempt hungry shoppers.
What my mom made every year would vary depending on the amount of time she had and the ingredients in our pantry. But there was one treat in particular that seemed to sell out before we even hit the afternoon: her famed cream cheese swirl brownies.
This recipe reminded me of those delicious bars, so I just had to make them.

Quick tip: You can substitute a boxed 9×9 brownie mix for the homemade brownies—just don’t forget to freeze before adding the cheesecake layer.
