Stop Thinking You Can’t Make These At Home!

Has it ever struck you as odd that IKEA serves Swedish meatballs? Okay, so both are Swedish. I get that part. But why have a cafeteria in a furniture store? I am sure that there must be some convoluted marketing algorithm that makes it seem like a good idea. But the concept totally surpasses my ability to understand it.

When I want to eat out, I usually prefer to go to a nice restaurant and sit on a plush, cushy chair or in an intimate booth. That is definitely not the vibe that IKEA puts out. When I want to shop for furniture, I don’t want to be distracted from my mission by the smell of food. To me, this is a rather odd pairing. Maybe it is the oddity that attracts the customers. I don’t think it’s the food – or the furniture!

If you want a good, authentic Swedish meatball, homemade is always going to be the best. With this exclusive recipe from Laureen, you can crack the code on how to make your very own Swedish meatballs right in the comfort of your own kitchen, where you hopefully have something more comfortable to sit on than sticks and boards.

Quick Tip:  You can make meatballs out of any ground meat. But oddly enough, this is one instance where leaner meats are not your best choice. Meats with a higher fat content, such as beef, lamb and pork, or some combination of those, make the tenderest meatballs.
