This Cleverly-Disguised Recipe May Be Dangerous To Your Identity As An Adult!
When I came across this off-the-wall recipe on the Tablespoon site, it blew my mind, and I was instantly transported back to my teenaged self, sitting with friends at the ballpark, cheering my boyfriend on to defeat and eating a chili dog. So I knew I had to share it with all of you, because everybody has a chili dog memory hidden somewhere in the long-ago recesses of their minds. Ready to try out this recipe, pack up and leave your adult reality behind for a little while and hop onboard my nifty time machine? C’mon, let’s go!
As I sit here, looking at this recipe with you, I can actually experience that last chili dog I ate. The soft, yielding texture of the bun. The slight resistance of the hotdog as my teeth pierced its skin. The spicy smell and savory taste of the chili. I swear they must have put something addictive in that chili, because that taste made you just want to eat more and more! Then the glorious cheese melting down over it all. I liked mine with onions and mustard, too.
So what is your chili dog memory? Make this casserole, and share your stories as you sit around the table with family and friends, reliving your “glory days.”

Quick Tip: You can easily freeze this casserole after you have baked it. But when you thaw and reheat it, the texture of the pasta will be softer. So if you know you are going to be freezing it, you might want to cook your pasta just a little bit short of al dente firmness.
