The Holiday Festivities Aren’t Complete Without This Easy and Delicious Side

A Thanksgiving Classic That Frees Up the Oven!

There are certain dishes that are required at Thanksgiving time in my family, apart from turkey. Mashed potatoes with my granny’s famous gravy, for example, or apple pie at dessert. But one thing that we always have to have on the table is creamed corn. There’s something about this comforting side dish that just screams fall to us, and it’s never missed a holiday gathering. One thing I’m always looking for when it comes to the holidays is recipes that I can cook without using up prime real estate on the stove. So when I saw a slow cooker version of creamed corn, I had to try it out.

This recipe is by McCormick. Normally I shy away from recipes by professional companies like this, but this one looked promising. It uses ricotta cheese to make the deliciously creamy creamed corn, and it all happens in the slow cooker. I have to say that I never would have thought to try that out, and it works like a dream. I’ve tested it once and now that I know how easy it is, I’m looking forward to the extra spot on the stovetop this Thanksgiving. Thanks go to McCormick for the great recipe.

Quick tip: Be sure to spray the inside of your slow cooker with cooking spray to keep things from sticking.
