This Is A Tried And True Recipe That Will Never Let You Down
It seems all at once all the young women in my family are getting married. My own daughter’s wedding is coming up in just six short months, then two of my nieces’ weddings are within the four months after. And my God daughter is getting married in just two months. And we all know weddings mean bridal showers and get-together’s galore as everyone tries to finish up their wedding to-do lists.
And as I’ve always loved to cook I’ve been getting a lot of requests to help with the food as the various bridal showers that will be taking place over the next few months. I’ve never been one to back down from a challenge, so I’ve taken on the task with a gusto! I love nothing more than hosting a party and feeding family and friends some good food to warm their bellies and their hearts.
And a bridal shower is no exception.
My God daughter has requested a few of her favorite dishes, including my famous crock pot shredded pork, mashed potatoes, and my green bean casserole. And to top it off she wants some quintessential pot luck desserts.
And to me nothing says pot luck quite like this timeless, tasty confection!

Quick tip: In stead of coolwhip you can substitute 12 oz. of homemade whipped cream in its place—the filling may just be slightly softer due to whipped cream not having the same stabilizers as Cool Whip.
