The beautiful thing about a tater tot casserole is it’s perfect for kids and adults alike. Kids love anything to do with crispy, crunchy tots, and the adults get to take a trip down memory lane to their own memories of eating tater tot casserole as a kid.
Throw in the flavor of a juicy cheeseburger, and you’ve got yourself a recipe that’s pretty much irresistible. Combine that with the ease of preparation, and I don’t know why you wouldn’t put this on the menu for supper tonight. It’s the perfect weeknight meal for your family.
Ingredients:
1-1/2 pounds ground beef
1 (3-oz) package real bacon bits
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 (32-oz) package frozen tater tots
1 (10.75-oz) can condensed cheddar cheese soup
16-oz sour cream
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly coat 9×13 pan with cooking spray.
Cook ground beef in skillet until no longer pink and drain fat.
In a large bowl combine ground beef, bacon bits, cheddar cheese, tater tots, cheese soup and sour cream. Mix until combined.
Spread mixture into prepared pan and bake for 45 to 50 minutes until bubbly.
Quick tip: You can prepare this through step 4 the night before. Keep in the refrigerator until ready to bake. You may need to add a few minutes to the baking time.
