This Is A Perfect Pairing For A Cup Of Tea And Good Conversation
When planning my sister’s bridal shower she was pretty relaxed about most of the details. The location? She didn’t care as long as it wasn’t totally outdoors. The date? Any Saturday before the wedding. And the guest list? She let my mom handle that.
But the food? Now that was a different story.
She is a major foodie. She loves trying new food as well as appreciates traditional family foods that we serve every year at various holidays and get together. So there was no way she was going to let my mom and I take care of the food for her shower. Instead she spent weeks perfecting the menu—deciding between an Italian buffet and a French brunch and finally settling on a variety of finger foods featuring her favorite flavors.
The day before was spent busily preparing all the dishes she requested. And when we set everything up the next day it looked like we had enough food for twice as many people as we had invited. But my sister was thrilled and that’s what mattered.
After it all was said and done we had more than enough leftovers to spread between the three of us. But one thing we didn’t have left overs of? This delicious cranberry orange quick bread.

Quick tip: This quick bread dough can also be used in a muffin man—simply reduce the baking time to around 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the muffins comes out clean.
