If You Can Boil Water, You Can Cook This Dish

  • crab alfredo

Creamy, satisfying, quick and easy are all excellent words to describe this version of Crab Alfredo. It has lots of butter and heavy cream, resulting in a velvety sauce. The Parmesan cheese, linguine noodles and Old Bay seasoning combine with the crab to make a luscious and satisfying bite.

This dish can’t be beat for ease- or speed-of-preparation, either. Boil water and cook the other ingredients in a pan for five minutes. You can walk in the door and have this dish on the table in less than 15 minutes. Now that you know just how easy this is, keep a can of crabmeat and a box of linguine in your pantry at all times, in case of emergency.

INGREDIENTS

12 oz. package linguine noodles

3 Tbsp. butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour

1 c. heavy cream

1 c. low-sodium chicken broth

1 1/2 c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for garnish

1 Tbsp. Old Bay seasoning, plus more for sprinkling

Kosher salt, to taste

Freshly-ground black pepper, to taste

2 Tbsp. freshly chopped parsley, plus more for garnish

1 lb. lump crab meat

Juice of 1/2 lemon

DIRECTIONS

In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook linguine according to package directions until al dente. Drain and return to pot.

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, 1 minute, then add flour and stir until golden. Pour over heavy cream and chicken broth and simmer until thick, 3 minutes. Add Parmesan and let melt, 2 minutes.

Season with Old Bay, salt, and pepper. Stir in parsley and crab meat and toss until coated, then add linguine and toss until fully combined.

Garnish with Old Bay, parsley, and Parmesan and a squeeze of lemon.

Quick Tip:  Add the Old Bay seasoning a little at a time, and then taste it. Old Bay is a very strong seasoning mix and some people find the taste unpleasant.
