This Makes A Perfect Summer Dessert To Share With Friends And Family.
My sister and I have a long history of being best friends. Growing up we did everything together, and even as we’ve gotten older we’ve been fortunate to remain close. (And live just down the street from each other—our husbands just love that!).
However, along with our closeness there has always been a competitive streak between us that we just can’t seem to grow out of. And this tendency to compete extends to our baking abilities, which has resulted in both of us loving to spend time in the kitchen and challenge ourselves with new and adventurous recipes.
Most recently we got our families together for a Sunday brunch, and my sister put me in charge of making a few loaves of quick bread to share. Wanting to make sure I had a flavor that everyone would love—and that would impress my sister—I poured over old cookbooks until I found some that looked too good to pass up.
They were all good, but this one definitely was the crowd favorite—not a crumb was left when we were done! I have a feeling I’ll be making it over and over again.

Quick tip: If you’re short on time instead of cream cheese frosting top with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar, milk and vanilla.
