This Is The Perfect Savory Side Dish To Go With Your Eggs In The Morning
One of my favorite childhood memories I have was waking up every Sunday to the smell of freshly baked bread in my house. My dad had an old bread machine, which he took great care of, and he used it every week to make a fresh loaf for the whole family to eat throughout the week.
Like any good American, we love bread, so my dad usually had to make an extra loaf by Wednesday. I remember the smell of the yeast and warm flour waking me up in the mornings, and I’d race my sister downstairs to get the first slice with breakfast.
My all-time favorite recipe my dad made was his Savory Onion Bread Loaf. The dried onions in the mix are so fragrant, they can get your tummy rumbling, even if you weren’t hungry. There’s also poppy seeds in the loaf, so you get a little crunch with each bite.
I personally think the best way to eat this Savory Onion Bread Loaf is to toast up a slice, smear on a light layer of cream cheese, and then eat it as is or use it to sop up a runny egg with breakfast – yummy! I hope you all enjoy the recipe as much as I do!
