This Hearty And Comforting Classic Will Keep You Warm On Cold Days
There are few things in life I love more than a steaming bowl of soup or stew on a cold day. It was a tradition in my family growing up that the first snowfall of the year signified the official start of ”soup season” where my mom would whip up at least two types of soup every week. And if the first snowfall happened to come on a weekend my mom would drop whatever dinner plans she had and turn to her trusty chili recipe.
I can still remember the smell of it simmering on the stove—so saucy and spicy! My dad, sister and I would all wait eagerly for her to pronounce it done so we could run into the kitchen and scoop of a big bowl before settling around the kitchen table. While slirping happily on our chili, we’d reminisce about the first snow fall the year before and how we hoped to never let this tradition fade away.
Now as a grown woman with a family of her own, I have continued on this tradition. However, as both my husband and I work a ton of hours the recipes I use for my chili and soups are definitely a litle easier.
But still totally tasty!
