You Won’t Be Able To Stop At Just One Of These Crispy & Delicious Homemade Onion Rings

Are sports a big thing in your house? Does your family gather around the TV every Sunday during football season or do you and your friends make sure to travel to a couple games to watch your favorite baseball team? Mine does (all of the above plus more) so we take our game day food very seriously. And nothing says game day quite like these beer battered onion rings.

This wasn’t always the case. When I was little my mom’s staple game day food was a bit pot of chili that would simmer on the stove all day as people helped themselves to a bowl (or two or three!) throughout the game. She’d serve some crusty bread and fruits and veggies with it and call it a day.

For the longest time that’s what I made for my husband and our friends when we’d host for a big game. And it was tasty as always but after years of a chili game day tradition it just felt… kind of tired. Like we needed some new game day culinary experiences.

That’s when I started searching for popular party snacks and came across this delicious recipe. If you’re an onion ring fan (or just a food fan in general) you will love these!

Quick tip: Before frying shake off excess batter from onion rings—this ensure rings fry crispy all the way through the batter.

Hi Floyd! Feel free to use any kind of beer for these! 🙂 The flavor is going to change slightly, of course, based on what you’re using – but if you choose your favorite kind then you’re bound to like it!

Umm, why measure a 12oz bottle of beer for 1 1/2 cups??? You can really trust the brewer, esp Budweiser, the REAL beer… That’s like doling out 4T instead of 1/4cup..
