We Know What We’re Having For Breakfast Tomorrow—And Every Day After That
My daughter and her best friend are basically attached at the hip. They met in kindergarten and five grades later the friendship is still going strong. From nearly weekly sleepovers at each other’s houses to homework sessions and bike rides through the neighborhood they spend as much time together as they can.
And as a bonus the mom of my daughter’s friend also happens to be one of the sweetest women I know. We instantly hit it off after their first play date, becoming fast friends as well. So every year when my husband has an annual work trip I invite both my daughter’s friend and her mom over for a good old fashioned sleep over.
We rent watch our favorite cheesy movies, play board games, drink hot cocoa (and maybe some wines once the girls go to bed) and just have some great girl time together. And, of course, the next morning we always have to have a special breakfast for the occasion. Each year I try to outdo the year before—it’s fun to come up with new recipes to impress the girls.
But last year, boy, that’ll be a tough one to beat.

Quick tip: This makes a large batch—if you aren’t feeding a crowd or don’t want to have leftovers you can cut the recipe in half.
