You Won’t Be Able To Stop Eating This—Don’t Say We Didn’t Warn You.
Back in college I had two roommates who lived with me from sophomore year until we graduated. Even those it’s been over a decade I still can remember our time together like it was yesterday. We shared a two-bedroom apartment so my friend Sarah and I actually shared a bedroom—I think that helped truly cement our friendship. It’s hard not to be close when you spend every night sleeping 10 feet from each other!
Some of my fondest memories are of nights we all had to stay up late cramming for exams or frantically finishing up last minute assignments. We’d typically all put on our comfiest clothes, find our ideal studying position, and then one of us would call up our favorite Chinese restaurant and order way too much food for three people.
We’d anxiously wait for our food to arrive, barely even pretending to study, and then immediately dig in as soon as it arrived. I always requested teriyaki chicken—it was my absolute favorite. I couldn’t even tell you how much I consumed back in my college days.
Unfortunately, I just can’t stomach takeout Chinese food like I did in my early twenties anymore, so I’ve had to improvise.
