Don’t Be Alarmed by This Firefighter’s Breakfast
Sirens go off! Buzzers sound! The dispatcher’s voice announces the location of yet another fire or emergency situation. Firefighter’s jump up from their meal, spring into their turnout gear, jump onto their trucks and race to the scene. Oh, gee! It’s a kitten up a tree! “We missed our breakfast for this?” they grumble. Yet they make the rescue anyway, glad there is no danger to themselves or others.
Such is the daily life of a firefighter. Long stretches of boredom, punctuated by heart-thumping danger. They do household chores like laundry, cleaning and dishes. They joke, laugh, wash their cars and sleep. But one thing a lot of people don’t know is that these guys and gals can cook. Seriously.
There are always one or two that are better cooks than the others. But just like with all of the other necessary chores involved in running a firehouse, where people live 24/7, they all take their turn at preparing the meals. It keeps things interesting.
If you are ever invited to a firehouse for a meal, make it a point to go. Enjoy an excellent meal and the camaraderie of people who run into danger, when everyone else is running away. Before you leave, be sure to thank them for their service.

Quick Tip: Just to change things up a bit, try link sausage instead of ground and experiment with different types of cheese.
