A Special Bread Gives A Classic Holiday Dish It’s Perfect Texture

Cornbread stuffing, also known as dressing, is a Southern favorite that I personally think is wy better than traditional stuffing mixes. I serve it not only on Thanksgiving, Christmas, or other holidays, but also for any special family occasion because everyone loves it.

This Stuffing recipe is both vegetarian and vegan too! You don’t have to go without the traditional flavor just because you aren’t roasting a bird (although it tastes amazing in a Thanksgiving turkey).

You’ll first need to be sure to use a vegan cornbread, if you want to stay health-conscious. Typically, most corn bread is made with milk, eggs, and butter. It may be easier to make your own vegan cornbread to use as the base.

This Stuffing recipe also uses whole wheat bread. With those starting points, you will add your aromatic flavors, herbs and vegetable broth.

If you are trying to have a completely vegetarian or vegan Thanksgiving, you should serve this stuffing with Tofurkey. I know it sounds a little strange, but vegan Thanksgiving meals actually taste very similar to the real thing!

If you’re going to be a guest at a non-vegan gathering (which will be most of you), you might offer to bring this stuffing or some other dishes along.

Quick Tip: Cover the baking dish loosely with tin foil to keep the stuffing moist.
