This Is Our Favorite Grilled Chicken Recipe
Before my husband and I moved for his job (across three states—I’m still adjusting!) we used to be very close with all the people who lived in our neighborhood. It wasn’t unusual to have people drop by randomly on the weekends to invite you to a backyard barbecue or inquire about what you yourself were cooking for the night.
Our last weekend in that town was one I’ll never forget. All our closest neighbors came together to throw us a huge going away party, complete with enough food to feed a small army, music blaring down the street, and well wishes that brought us to tears.
I’ll always remember that balmy summer evening and the friends we left behind. It was a perfect way to close that chapter in our lives and say goodbye to the ones we had shared our lives with over the last half decade. As I mingled I made sure to sample all the delicious food everyone had brought—but one dish in particular is forever cemented in my memory.
It was a piece of grilled chicken—my go to grilled meat—and the fact that I still remember it clearly to this day is a testament to just how delicious it was.

Quick tip: Make this all year round! After marinading sear both sides of the chicken in a hot pan and then finishing baking in the oven.
