Serve These Up At Your Next Barbecue And Watch Them Disappear

Every summer my neighborhood as a huge Fourth of July cookout. Anyone and everyone who’s around is invited to come, bring a dish to pass, catch up on life and play a few yard games. It’s a great get together that my family looks forward to every year. My son in particular loves it as his best friend lives just down the street and they can spend the whole day running up and down the block together.

For the last few years my husband has been in charge of grilling the burgers and brats, which means we get a lot of people heading over to chow down. I honestly couldn’t tell you how many packs of buns and bottles of ketchup we go through!

But last year in a bad stroke of luck my husband had a work trip scheduled right over the fourth and was unable to perform his annual grilling duties. Not being a fan of grilling but also not wanting to disappoint out meat-lovin’ neighbors I knew I had to make something extra delicious.

After tossing around a few ideas with some friends I finally settled on this one. And it was perfect!

Quick tip: If you don’t have 8 hours you can cook these on high for 5 hours.
