My Lemon Pound Cake Recipe Is The Perfect Copy Cat Version Of The Popular Kind
I have a boyfriend that works at a popular coffee shop chain, and he is always having to try out all their products in the bakery case. I don’t blame him – who doesn’t love sweet snacks?
Well, last week he told me I should try to recreate the shop’s famous lemon pound cake, which also happens to be one of my favorite types of cake. This is probably because my family had a huge lemon tree growing in our yard when I was little.
My boyfriend helped me make sure it looked as close as possible to the one from his work, and he says that it is a VERY close match. It happens to be delicious in its own right as well.
To come up with this recipe I went on the shop’s website, and I looked up the ingredients. I made a few changes to their original recipe: I replaced the milk with almond milk because we have some dairy allergies at my house. Almond milk happens to add a great nutty flavor to the cake too.
I also actually increased the amount of salt used. Surprisingly, salt helps make a cake more moist. I think I did an amazing job at creating this Coffee Shop Copy Cat Cake!
