Leave Frozen Food Behind for Good with This Delicious Homemade Corn Dog
One thing I love about state fairs is the corn dogs. You’re probably saying that’s a silly thing to love, considering all the other amazing fair food all around me at an event like that. But there’s something about freshly deep-fried corn dogs that is perfect. They blow the sad frozen versions out of the water. Convenient to eat and delicious to the very end, there’s nothing about a corn dog that I don’t love. So, when I saw this homemade version from Life in the Lofthouse, I immediately got excited. This recipe is perfect for creating that state fair flavor – just a little bit sweet on the dough, exactly the way I like them.
This corn dog is a lot less mess than you might think. You don’t have to have a deep fryer or special equipment – just a standard pot will work. Fry these corn dogs up in a bit of vegetable oil and you’re good to go. Kids love this recipe and it’s a fun way to lighten up on the frozen and fast foods. Big thanks go to the chef at Life in the Lofthouse for sharing such a great recipe with us.

Quick tip: To make it easier to dunk the hotdogs into the batter, pour the batter into a tall drinking glass before you start dunking.
