Sneak Some Fruit Into Their Breakfast with This Fun Recipe

I have a confession to make: I’ve never been a huge Martha Stewart devotee. Maybe it’s just because I always felt like it was cheating to take a recipe from a “celebrity” chef. I love culinary bloggers and prefer to experiment with recipes from them. But when this recipe came across my Pinterest feed, I just had to try it. French toast, fresh fruit, all on a fun kabob? Who could let that go? As it turns out, this recipe is extremely easy and introduced me to a new way to make French toast that I wish I’d known 20 years ago. Instead of dirtying up a pan and letting the French toast get cold while you make more, you just stir up chunks of bread with the egg wash and bake it!

So big thanks to Martha for this recipe. My kids had a blast eating food off a stick and I enjoyed the fact that they were getting some fruit into their breakfast. I’ll be making this one for years to come. It’s so easy to customize, too. If you prefer apple chunks, pineapple, apricots, or just about any other kind of fruit, just thread them right on there!

Quick tip: When choosing berries for this recipe, always look for uniform, rich coloring. The more vibrant the berry, the riper and fresher it is.
