Makes These For Your Next Get Together And Watch The Disappear

I married into a huge football family. Nearly every family gathering we have between August and February centers around a ”big game” (they’re all big in his family) and all the food that goes with it. Last fall we had a mini family reunion as some family from out of state decided to come up for an extended visit that, of course, ended with a football party.

While there I found myself in the kitchen with one of his cousins who I had met a few years prior but hadn’t spent much time talking too. As we chit chatted our conversation eventually turned to the game that was on in the other room and the crazy hooping and hollering that was taking place. I tentatively mentioned how I always foung it a little funny to yell at the tv while watchinga sporting event—after all, they can’t hear you—and was thrilled when she nodded enthusiastically in agreement.

Turns out that I had found the one other person in the family who felt the same way about football I did—the best part of football season was the food! We began sharing our favorite recipes, and she pointed out the one she had brought to the party.

Quick tip: If you don’t have wonton wrappers you can create a similar effect with small flour tortillas by pressing them into your muffin tin and adding the filling (some of the edge may need to be torn off).
