Just When You Thought A Grilled Cheese Recipe Couldn’t Get Any Better We Added This

Seriously this is the best grilled cheese recipe I’ve ever used!

I love when you find a food that’s so perfectly delicious it just enhances everything you add it to. For a while that food for me was onions. Fry them up and add them on a burger, mince them and toss them in your pasta sauce, or slice them thin and mix them into hash browns. Literally wherever you added them the dish only got better.

Then a new super food came into my life and pushed onions right out of the picture. Bacon Jam. Have you heard of it?

It’s exactly what it sounds like—the smoky, savory deliciousness of bacon transformed into a spreadable jam form. I was first introduced to it by my neighbor as a topping for a juicy steak and was instantly in love. And now I’ve made it my mission to add it to just about anything and everything I can think of. It’s just the perfect condiment (it makes out of this world cheese burgers).

One day I was staring at an open jar of bacon jam in my fridge and brainstorming ways to use it up when a lightbulb went off in my head. I eagerly grabbed the jar out and got to work.

Quick tip: Instead of butter, spread outside of bread with mayonaise for an extra crispy crust.
