This Recipe Is So Versatile That Everyone Has To Love It
I grew up in Texas for ten years as a child, so I know what I’m talking about when I say I’ve eaten good BBQ! By spring, my family was always hosting some type of cookout every weekend the weather would allow us.
However, there were always some days where it was raining, or just a little too cold, and we couldn’t fire up the grill. My oldest cousin, Darlene, invented this fantastic Crock Pot recipe for those exact types of moments, and I’ve never tasted anything like this.
This is a recipe for Texan Crock Pot Roast, and it has everything a Texas girl could want in a slow cooker. Now that I live in the mid-west, I’ve brought my cousin’s recipe with me. Everyone I’ve served this Texan Crock Pot Roast to has told me they’ve never tasted a pot roast that tastes quite like this.
The recipe is very versatile too, so you can dial the intensity of the flavors up and down as you please. If you like spicy food, try using a hot BBQ sauce that’s made with chipotle peppers. If you like the sweeter side of BBQ, use a hickory sauce to keep the smokiness from the roast.
I love that I’ll always have a little bit of the south with me in this recipe, and the fact that all the ingredients go into a Crock Pot make it that much sweeter!

Quick Tip: Use a sweet BBQ sauce for a mild flavor, or use a spicy BBQ sauce to intensify the heat.
