I’m pretty sure dinner doesn’t get any better than this ultra-quick and easy 5-Ingredient Chili! This is a traditional chili (no pasta in the base recipe) that is packed with tons of flavor. The base is so simple—just ground beef, tomatoes, chiles and beans. It gets all its kick from a healthy dose of chili powder that pairs wonderfully with a spoonful of sour cream right before devouring.
This is the perfect recipe for a weeknight dinner or meal for a weekend get together where you’d rather spend more time socializing and less time in the kitchen. It’s a crowd favorite!
Ingredients (mix up order)
1 lb ground beef
1 small white onion, diced fine
3 cans diced tomatoes w/ green chiles (15oz. each)
2 cans of beans drained, (15oz. each, use your favorites for chili)
2tbsp. chili powder
Toppings (crackers, cheese, sour cream, etc.)
Directions
In a large stockpot, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, stirring frequently. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the cooked meat to a separate plate and set aside. Reserve 1 tablespoon of grease in the stockpot, and discard the rest.
Add the onion to the stockpot and cook until soft and translucent.
Add the beef back to the pot and add in the remaining ingredients. Stir to combine and bring to a boil. Then reduce heat and simmer (covered) for 10-15 minutes.
Serve immediately, garnished with optional toppings if desired.

Quick tip: Sub ground turkey or chicken in place of beef for a little lighter and healthier twist.
