The next time you go out food shopping, take a walk down the seasoning aisle of your local market and select a few of these pre-packaged seasoning mixes to try in this quick and easy recipe. Then surprise your family the next time chicken is on your dinner menu.
With this ultra-easy, one-pan preparation method, you will be in and out of your kitchen in a flash. By cooking at higher temperatures, you do not need to cook for a long period of time, so your kitchen will not be heated up any more than absolutely necessary. This makes this recipe especially good for summertime dinners.
INGREDIENTS
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 (0.7-oz) package Italian dressing mix
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with aluminum foil.
Combine the brown sugar and Italian dressing mix. Coat both sides of the chicken with the brown sugar mixture. Place in prepared pan. Top chicken with any remaining brown sugar mixture.
Bake for 20 minutes. Turn broiler on HIGH. Broil chicken until brown sugar caramelizes, about 1 to 2 minutes. Watch it carefully so it doesn’t burn!

Quick Tip: Don’t place your pan too close to your broiler. Even if you watch it carefully, it will start to scorch very quickly, and can go from perfect caramelization to a nasty-tasting, burnt mess in the blink of an eye. It will also start to smoke, which will make your entire house take on that burnt-sugar odor.

I think this would work in a crock pot or an electric pressure cooker. The taste would be there, but it probably wouldn’t be caramelized.I think it’s worth a try either way It sounds delish!!
