Too Hot To Turn On The Oven? Just Bust Out The Grill

I can’t speak for where you come from but down here in the heart of Texas it doesn’t just get hot in the summer—it gets positively sweltering! There are days  where our air conditioners almost can’t keep up and fans might as well just be tiny fires blowing heat at you. Those days typically mean one thing in my house—under no circumstances will we turn on the oven.

For someone with a major sweet tooth like me that means getting a little more creative with our sweet treats. I’ve tried dozens of no bake goodies and some are totally delicious, but to me there’s just something about a baked good that just can’t be replicated by something that’s no bake. So I’ve spent quite a few days and weeks during the summer with my sweet tooth just begging me to satisfy its cravings with more than a bowl of ice cream or no bake cookie.

Fortunately, a last minute invite to a neighbor’s backyard barbecue turned out to tbe the answer to my baked good loving prayers. Because it turns out that our grills aren’t just good for cooking up the main course—they’re equally as good for whipping up dessert!
