Your Family will Rave About These “Best Ever” Kebabs!
Don’t you just love playing with food? I mean, of course, really getting-down-in-there and getting-your-hands-dirty food preparation techniques, not the type of playing-with-food that kids do when they don’t want to eat something. This recipe is really off-the-charts when it comes to food-prep fun!
You are definitely going to feel like a kid again as you work your way through this recipe! Just make sure you aren’t wearing your tiara, ball gown and pearls when you get ready to make this one, because things are going to get messy. In fact, if you’ve ever want to try cooking naked, this would be the perfect recipe for a try-out. Just keep an eye out for your neighbors when you head for the grill!
Seriously, though, Melanie’s recipe for these scrumptious chicken kebabs will blow the minds of your family and friends. She even gets extra points for the most ingenious use of bacon that I have ever seen! This is the type of recipe that could become a real bonding experience for your entire family, if you enlisted everyone’s help in getting it prepared and cooked: preparing the chicken (mom and younger kids, who will love the mess), loading the kebabs onto the skewers (older children, due to using pointy skewers) and dad, king of the grill!

Quick Tip: Using wooden skewers? Soak them first to keep food from sticking and to keep the wooden skewer from burning. Here is a great method: Put a bagful of wooden skewers in a 9×13 pan, filling it up with water. Soak for several hours. If you have unused skewers, put them in a zip lock bag and freeze them. Now just pull out the number you need for your next skewer-based recipe. Want smaller kebabs? Sharpen wooden chopsticks with a clean pencil sharpener before soaking them. Instant portion control!
