These Are Such A Fun Twist On A Classic Campfire Treat

I’m sad to say that growing up my family never went on a single camping trip. I remember all my friends coming back from summer vacation and eagerly sharing their tales of fun around the campfire with family and friends. And then there was my family where the closest we got to camping was pitching a tent in the backyard.

Fortunately, I married a huge out doors-man who spent nearly every summer weekend of his childhood bouncing from campground to campground. And he was more than willing to introduce me to his camping world.

Shortly after getting married we purchased our first camper and set our sights on travelling to as many places as we could before the summer ended.

Our first trip was perfect. We went with a group of our closest friends and spent every night laughing till our cheeks were sore and our stomachs hurt. And, of course, we had plenty of campfire food. Every night we cooked our dinner over the flames and then finished the evening by roasting marshmallows.

On our last night there, though, we had something different. And it is now my all-time favorite camping (or summertime) treat.

Quick tip: No campfire? No problem! Bake these in the oven at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
