The BEST Pot Roast Recipe—and It’s So Easy!
My husband works long hours (he has an hour of work in before I even have to get up!) and usually comes home starving every night. He’s pretty good about enjoying whatever I decide to cook that night even if it’s something simple like grilled cheese and canned tomato soup. My hours aren’t quite as long as his but the day can still get away from me pretty quickly.
However, every now and then I like to whip us his favorite meal to surprise him when I can sneak out of the office early. He loves pot roast more than any other supper and gets giddy every time I make it. I’ve had a trusty recipe that I’ve been using for years but it take a while to cook on the stove, so the busier I get at work the less I can make it.
So the other day I started wondering how I could surprise him with his favorite dish a little more often. A quick online search showed me that people really loved cooking pot roast in their crock pots—something I had never tried before. So one day before leaving for work I threw this recipe together. And it was fabulous!

Quick tip: If you don’t have 8-10 hours to let this cook on low cook it on high for 4-5 hours—it’s just as good!
