A Spooky Halloween Appetizer
This recipe is a family tradition every Thanksgiving. My aunt brought it to a family dinner nearly 20 years ago and it stayed a part of our tradition ever since. We dress it up in a beautiful trifle glass dish so that you can see every layer and we pick at it between breakfast and the family feast. It’s delicious and the perfect appetizer to sit over and chat while the turkey roasts.
I love this adaption and am looking forward to adding it to our halloween tradition as well. For those of us who stay back and pass out candy it’s a great appetizer to sit and talk over. I’m looking for fun dishes to serve from a tray of sliced cheeses and sausages spilling out of a dollar store skeleton to a witches brew pot of spinach dip. We tend to skip desert this time of year and settle for all the fun size candy bars that come from trick or treating. Of course we steal a few from our own give away pile as well. It’s not halloween with out a sugar rush and plenty of chocolate!
