Swirls Or Cherry And Pools Of Glaze Make These Bars Heaven On A Plate
I’m not sure how it happened, but my son is very athletic. And I say I’m not sure how this happened because neither my husband nor I are anything close to what you’d call athletes. I’ve personally struggled with hand-eye coordination my whole life—and I hear that’s pretty important if you want to excel at most sports.
So my husband and I were pleasantly surprised when our son joined his middle school soccer team and quickly fell in love with the sport—and proved a pretty adept player. Before we knew it we became soccer parents, attending practices and yelling ourselves hoarse at every single game. We couldn’t be happier that he’s found something he loves and that helps him build useful teamwork skills.
One of my favorite days of the soccer season is the annual soccer family potluck to kick off the season. Everyone gets together at a local park with a dish to pass and soccer balls to kick around. The kids play a few pick me up games, and the parents get a chance to catch up.
I almost always bring some type of dessert—I’m known as the baking soccer mom—and the dessert I brought last year was by far my favorite.
