These Are The Most Delicious No Bake Bars You’ll Ever Eat
When I was a kid our school cafeteria had about four or five desserts that they’d serve everyone on a rotating basis. They had chocolate and vanilla cake, cookies, brownies and the most delicious chocolate and peanut butter bars I’ve ever tasted.
I remember telling my mom about them and begging her to make a batch for me every time we’d have them at school (one was never enough). Unfortunately, she had no idea how to make them just from my description alone, so for the most part I only ever got those elusive bars at school.
Then when I was in seventh grade my dad’s job was relocated to a new city, and we moved three states away. And much to my horror this new school didn’t serve those peanut butter bars—my dessert-loving preteen heart was broken! Okay, that might be a bit dramatic but it did take me a while to forget about all that peanut butter deliciousness.
So you can believe that when I saw a recipe for a no bake dessert called “lunch lady bars” I didn’t hesitate to try it out. And you know what? It was a dead ringer for that school lunch dessert I remembered so fondly.

Quick tip: To make spreading the chocolate on top of the peanut butter mixture even easier let the peanut butter layer chill in the fridge for a half hour before adding the topping.
